GoPro Karma drone release date, specs, features and UK price: GoPro has finally lifted the lid on its long-awaited GoPro Karma drone, the company's first-ever consumer quadcopter.
After months of endless teasing, GoPro has finally revealed its Karma drone. It began as a project that was co-developed with drone-maker DJI, but that partnership was ended back in 2015. The Karma drone was originally intended to launch in early 2016, but was delayed until September – but now it's here.
"Karma should be an end-to-end life capture solution," GoPro said unveiling Karma, which comes with a companion app called Passenger that will let you control the device's camera from your smartphone.
The Karma is comprised of three parts: the drone and controller itself, a removable stabiliser, and a backpack carrying case.
The firm says it's small enough to fold away into the backpack and "includes an image-stabilization grip that can be handheld or mounted to vehicles, gear and more. Karma makes it easy for anyone to capture amazingly smooth, stabilized video during almost any activity."
The drone is available from $799 (around £613) on October 31. It'll be bundled in with a GoPro Hero 5 camera for $1,099 (about £843), or from early 2017, a Hero 5 session for $999 (about £766).
We're still waiting for confirmation of the UK price.
