Graham Kemp, director of High Technology Lighting, has driven from the UK to Portugal in fancy dress to raise money for a local boy paralysed in a sporting accident.
Graham joined three other team members in driving over 1,500 miles from France to Portugal to raise money for Nathan Cubitt.Nathan,16,broke his neck during a rugby game playing for Keighley Rugby Union Club last November, which has left him paralysed from the chest down.
Beginning in Rouen on the 23rd of August, the team drove all the way through France, into Spain and across Portugal to reach Lisbon on 26th August, meeting their target of completing the journey in four days.
A 16-year-old Volvo was converted into a Batmobile for the fundraising event and all four men wore Batman-themed fancy dress clothes, with Kemp taking on the role of Robin.
The team's efforts have resulted in 2,718 EUROS being raised so far, just shy of their 3,000 EUROS traget.
The money raised will go towards care and support for Nathan, who is wheelchair bound.
