Toyota has unveiled its new 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro at the Chicago Auto Show which is its latest pickup truck in its off-road vehicle lineup.

The new pickup truck is fitted with factory-installed-off-road-equipment designed by experts at the TRD (Toyota Racing Development).

According to the company, the pickup truck has been designed for off-roading enthusiasts who want to test their vehicle's limits under some extreme conditions.

Customer can choose between two options which include, a 6-speed manual transmission and the other is 6-speed automatic transmission.

The truck comes in three colors including Cement, Barcelona Red Metallic and Super White. It is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 DOHC (Dual-Overhead Camshaft), 24 valve direct-injection, Aktinson cycle engine with VVT-iW (Variable Valve Timing-intelligent Wide) intake and VVT-I exhaust.

Apart from these, the pickup truck is also equipped with FOX 2.5 Internal Bypass Shocks, TRD-tuned front springs with 1-inch lift, TRD-tuned rear suspension with progressive-rate off-road leaf spring.

The new Tacoma TRD Pro has a 4WD with a transfer case and Automatic Limited-Slip Differential (Auto LSD)and they are both electronically controlled. A V6 Tow Package has also been placed as a standard.

Tacoma TRD Pro with automatic transmission has what the company says Toyota Multi-terrain Select System, which has five modes to choose.

These modes help in regulating wheel spin by automatically adjusting engine throttle and traction control.

Another driving feature that Toyota has incorporated in Tacoma TRD Pro automatic version is Hill Start Assist Control (HAC). This feature helps in climbing hills.

This system prevents the vehicle from rolling down when the driver is switching from the brake to the gas pedal and helps in easy ascent.
