Visitors at the MJGF witnessed for the first time a special Style Statement Gallery which showcased high-end,couture jewellery pieces defining the Indian jewellery trends for 2013.Indias leading designers like Varuna D.Jani,Bina Goenka etc.showcased their excellent master-pieces jewellery at the gallery.MJGF is expanding its base in Mumbai by gathering more and more support from various associations like Nashik Saraf Association,Ahmedabad Jewellers Association,Pune Saraf Association,Mumbai Wholesale Gold Jewellers Association,Mumbai Diamond Merchants Association,Madras Jewellery&Diamond Merchants Association across India which help the show lay a strong foundation to establish the itself in Mumbai.Ms.Kranti Nagvekar,Group Director,UBM says,We have almost the similar number of participants this year also as we had last year. This is so because people wanted to see our performance, they wanted us to prove ourselves this year and we have proved ourselves. We have worked very hard to reach every corner of India and gathered the industrys support. As a result, footfalls to the show have increased by 50%this year in comparison with last year.So the show may not have achieved quantitative growth but it certainly has achieved qualitative growth this year.MJGF has now set the stage for multitude opportunities for Indian jewellery market.

Talking about support to the show from India and foreign countries,Kranti says,More and more jewellery associations across India are joining us as our supporters and we are leveraging their support to make the show more professional with plenty of business opportunities for Indian jewelers. This year we had delegations from China,Australia,Nepal,Bangladesh,Pakistan and Sri Lanka. We had participants from Hong Kong,Israel,Sri Lanka,Germany,Thailand,Dubai etc.

Next edition of the MJGF is scheduled to be held during November 2013.But many participants here did not look keen about the dates. They say that November is not a buying season.Reacting to this Kranti said,We certainly understand this but we have got limited choice about the dates as this is the only venue available in Mumbai for the show.If we get some better date-options,we may think over to change them.

Asked whether Sparkle and Vibrant Gujarat shows had any adverse effect on performance of MJGF,Kranti said,Yes,may be in a very limited proportion. But as I mentioned, our number of visitors has increased manifolds in last years comparison encouraging us to a great extent.

In conclusion,Kranti says,MJGF is an ideal platform for people of the trade to understand their business needs, regional policies and leverage the commercial capacity for jewellery manufacturing and consumption in India. We hope our initiatives will make the gem&jewellery industry more confident and help in the betterment of the trade.
