American International Group (AIG) has signed a multi-year renewal agreement with Best Buy to further expand its role as the Geek Squad Protection plans provider in US.
Under the renewal agreement, AIG will continue to serve as Best Buy's exclusive Geek Squad Protection Plans and other customer service related service contracts provider through its multichannel distribution system across the country.
Best Buy senior vice president George Sherman said AIG represents an ideal entity for the company to provide its customers with support throughout the life cycle of their personal technology.
"AIG contributes an end-to-end customer service platform, a global footprint, and an in-depth knowledge of Best Buy's customers," Sherman added.
Currently, the company offers an array of Geek Squad Protection Plans for Best Buy's technology products and offerings, including computing, home theater, digital imaging, mobile phone, car electronics products, as well as other major appliances.
The plans expand the coverage length and also provide additional benefits, such as an improved "no lemon" policy, protection for accidental damage from handling, and image burn-in coverage, even though majority of the products are provided with a manufacturer's warranty.
