American Key Food Products (AKFP) has launched Suchero brand organic coconut palm sugar for the North American market.
The company noted that the Suchero brand organic coconut palm sugar is an all-natural, low glycemic index (GI) sugar, which can be used as well as a tabletop sweetener. It can be used in specialty baked goods, energy bars and beverages.
The product is organic, GMO-free, kosher and halal, and contains 16 amino acids, as well as several vitamins and minerals.
AKFP will be the exclusive distributor for the product, which is available in a variety of bulk containers. It can also be packed in individual consumer sachets in boxes of 20, 80 or 100 units.
AKFP COO Mel Festejo said that as the coconut palm sugar made from the sap of the coconut palm it has high level of nutrients, which are retained through gentle, non-chemical processing.
It has an appealing light brown color and mild, nutty, sweet taste, and is suitable for diabetics, and the company expects product developers and consumers to embrace this as a better, healthier sweetener alternative, Festejo added.
