Covanta Has Entered Into an Agreement with The City of Tulsa in Oklahoma

Covanta WBH, a waste disposal firm, has entered into an agreement with the city of Tulsa in Oklahoma that extends its contract to offer waste disposal services by ten years, with a provision for further extensions.

Tulsa's energy-from-waste plant processes over 300,000 tons of municipal solid waste annually producing about 240,000 lb/hr of steam, which is used subsequently to generate electricity, along with recycling 7, 700 tons of metal.

Covanta senior vice president of business management Paul Stauder said they look ahead to provide sustainable waste disposal along with clean sources of energy.

"The city was on the leading edge when the facility was built and that appetite for innovation continues to prevail today. The city should be applauded for its foresight in choosing to utilize energy from waste for sustainable municipal solid waste disposal. We look forward to serving the residents of Tulsa in the many years ahead," added Stauder.
