Ayrshire-based egg producer Chalmerston Farm Eggs is set to increase production with the support of £1.1m finance package from HSBC.
The farm is expected to benefit from a free range poultry shed that will help increase its stock of birds from 20,000 to 52,000 within the next 12 months, BQ Live reported.
The company currently produces and processes around 16 million fresh and free range eggs annually.
Chalmerston Farm Eggs, joint owner Billy Robb was quoted by BQ Live as saying: "We are an ambitious business and have a clear view on where we expect the business to be in the coming years. HSBC acted quickly to see how they could help us, which really helped us.
"The team sees our vision, appreciates the dynamics of the marketplace, the importance of building a long-term, sustainable relationship and the flexibility and scale of modern food production."
Established in 1958, this family-run company is also involved in beef and sheep farming.
