North American supplier of containers and closures Berlin Packaging has announced the acquisition of Lerman Container, a packaging distributor in the US, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition will expand Berlin Packaging's presence in the Northeast, adds personal care and pharmaceutical packaging expertise, complementing the company's own know-how in the areas as well as in other areas including food and beverage, chemical and industrial, household care, lab supply and dangerous goods packaging.
Berlin said the acquisition will also expand the services and specialty offerings available to Lerman's customers and enables its suppliers to reach new customers.
Following the acquisition, the combined company is expected to have revenues exceeding $700m in 2012.
The latest transaction is Berlin's third strategic acquisition since 2010, when the company acquired US-based All-Pak and Continental Packaging Solutions.
Berlin Packaging is majority owned by Investcorp, an alternative investment management firm. The company supplies containers and closures annually as well as warehousing and logistics services for customers of all sizes in all industries.
