Duff Beer, the iconic fictional beer adored by the lead character of Homer from the popular American cartoon series 'The Simpsons', is all set for global release.
Thouh the drink has been sold in various versions besides being the subject of countless merchandise items, this is its first official launch.
Duff beer went on sale in Universal Studios theme park in Orlando and Hollywood recently.
The maker of the show, Twentieth Century Fox plans to launch the beer in American and European markets this year.
Twentieth Century Fox consumer products president Jeffery Godsick was quoted by The Sun as saying: "You will enjoy it at home and eventually at bars. We are treating this as real beer, not a novelty."
Set in the fictional town of Springfield, the popular show has been dubbed into many other languages, including Japanese, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. The show has been broadcast in Arabic, but Homer drinks soda instead of Duff Beer.
Started in 1989, The Simpsons is the longest-running American sitcom and the longest-running American animated program.
