Himalayan News Service reported that Nepal based Hulas Steel Industries has launched the second Continuous Galvanising Line and Color Coating Line.
In view of increased demand for roofing sheets as well as rising awareness among consumers for better quality products and services, a new generation color coating line of 60,000 tonnes per annum capacity, together with a modern continuous galvanizing line of 80,000 tonnes per annum capacity has been set up.
A MoU between Hulas Steel and Berger Becker Coatings (India and Sweden) was exchanged between representatives of the companies.
Hulas Steel was incorporated in 1981, as a joint venture between Golchha Organisation and Comcraft, to manufacture galvanized sheets. From a small start with around 40 workers, and an annual capacity of only 12,000 tonne per year, it has now grown to become one of the largest steel companies in Nepal with over 900 employees, and an annual capacity of over 140,000 tonnes per year.
