German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has secured a van supply contract from the car rental company Avis Budget Group in Southern Europe.
Under the deal, the manufacturer will supply 620 vans including its Vito, Viano and Sprinter vehicles for the company that will be used for vehicle rentals.
About 335 units will be used for vehicle rentals in Spain, 250 vehicles in Italy and 35 vans in Portugal.
Avis Budget Group Spain, Italy and Portugal Sales & Marketing head Ramon Biarnes said the company will deploy its new rental vehicles from Mercedes-Benz Vans at the most important locations in Southern Europe in particular at airports and large cities.
"The vehicles are ideal for easy travel with the entire family without any compromise of safety," Biarnes added.
Earlier, the manufacturer had started series production of its new Sprinter Vans at Dssseldorf and Ludwigsfelde plants in Germany.
