Porsche, part of Volkswagen group, has launched its most awaited SUV Macan in India.
SUV Macan is available in two variants, Macan S Diesel and Mecan Turbo Petrol, reported The Economic Times.
Macan S Diesel can go from 0 to 100mph in 6.1 seconds, while Mecan Turbo Petrol can hit 0 to 100mph in 4.8 seconds.
The car has a compact SUV like design but it has features like that of any Porsche sports car.
Porsche has added features like bi-xenon headlamps, air suspension system with ride height adjustment, lighting package, three-zone climate control, and fully variable all-wheel drive to provide a good driving experience.
Porsche India director Anil Reddi told by the news agency: "We have selectively reached out to our Indian clientele and we are enthused with the response.
"India as a market has got a certain allocation and we are sold out in India for the moment. Given the demand, we are requesting our HQ for priority allocation for India despite our small volumes.
"With the launch of the Macan, we intend to expand this further, but we don't want lose out on the exclusivity that Porsche guarantees. We are not in the pursuit of volumes and as a policy; we will always sell one car less than what the market demands."
