Naturex, a France-based producer of plant-based natural ingredients, has announced the Europe launch of a new slimming ingredient, Svetol, which is a leading ingredient in the US.
According to the company, Svetol is developed from decaffeinated green coffee bean extract and has been proven to inhibit glucose-6-phosphatase and increase the rate of fat release from the adipose tissue, a mechanism that results in effective weight management.
Svetol is currently used in 100 co-branded products across the US and Canada.
Naturex marketing director Antoine Dauby said that even though Svetol is an ingredient, it has gained a very high level of recognition among consumers across North America.
"We're confident Svetol presents a huge opportunity for companies in Europe, too, and we're delighted to be highlighting its benefits and potential at Vitafoods," Dauby added.
The company is showcasing the product at Vitafoods Europe which is taking place at Palexpo in Geneva from 14 - 16 May 2013.
In addition, Naturex is launching Europe's first clinically proven and proanthocyanidin (PAC) standardised organic cranberry powder, Pacran Organic, which is an extension to the existing range of Pacran ingredients.
