US-based Gorham Paper and Tissue has announced the addition of 25% wet strength and color to food packaging papers.
Gorham Paper product manager Wayne Nablo said as the paper that holds the burger or fries must stay intact and look good, the expectations for food packaging are high.
"We worked side-by-side with the customer to engineer a colored paper to support their brand imaging objectives with high levels of wet strength and grease resistance for durability," Nablo said.
The company recently announced its food packaging offering which includes bleached and unbleached paper with basis weight options ranging from 18lb to 133lb.
The offering incorporates grease resistance, wet strength and the ability to add color, and the products are suitable for a range of quick service restaurant and other food packaging including wraps, pouches, bags and liners.
