With the recent delivery of last batch of welded pipes in Guangdong Province natural gas pipeline network second phase project, the contracts of CNOOC Nanhai Liwan 3-1 gas field and Guangdong Province natural gas pipeline network project(including high-grade steel seamless pipe, HFW high frequency welded pipe and UOE LSAW pipe, worth 87,000 tons) undertaken by Baosteel are completed. In rigorous testing by users, the products' technical performance all meet requirement. This indicates that Baosteel is equipped with full line pipe products from land to deep seabed supply ability.
CNOOC Nanhai Liwan 3-1 gas field is natonal key project and is divided into three parts: from South China Sea Liwan 3-1 gas field of 1500 m water depth to platform of 200 m water depth, from 200 m water depth platform to Zhuhai Gaolan island shore terminal and Zhuhai Gaolan terminal receiver project. Adding the network pipe project when undersea gas comes ashore and is sent to users through Guangdong Province natural gas pipeline network, this is of key importance in CNOOC pipeline construction in recent years. Steel Pipe, Tubes and Bars Department pays great attention to South China Sea Liwan 3-1 gas field development project and Guangdong Province pipe network pipeline project. Since 2009 it begins tracking and gets involved in the project and carries out preliminary technological exchanges with project owners. With strong support and cooperation of relevant Baosteel departments, Steel Pipe, Tubes and Bars Department has collaboration among production, sales and research, carries out a number of new test and certification. The products meet a variety of demanding technical requirements proposed by users, stand out among a number of competitors and win the four contracts, involving a total length of over 300 kilometers.
Among the four contracts won by Baosteel, X65 seamless line pipe is for China's largest, deepest South China Sea Liwan 3-1 gas field with 1500 m depth; 30-inch welded pipe is for 200 m deep seabed, with delivery pressure up to 23.9 MPa, which is twice of terrestrial service main pipeline. Besides, the pipe diameter thickness ratio is small and it is very difficult to manufacture; 56-inch 1422 * 28.6 * 17.3 mm welded pipe which is for Asia's largest terminal slug catcher, is the domestic welded pipe with largest diameter and length.
To ensure successful completion of the contracts, Steel Pipes, Tubes and Bars Department organizes production, marketing research team to implement and advance the project. Targeted toward deep-sea seamless pipe line production process complexity, Seamless Steel Pipe Mill tests every pipe to ensure that the quality and performance of the manufactured products can meet user requirements. 30-inch sea pipe are manufactured by Baosteel Co.,Ltd. Steelsmeltting Mill, Manufacturing Department in conjunction with UOE Welded Pipe Mill. Targeted toward product technical requirements, it adjusts the various technological processes, organizes production rationally and the products meet the requirements. 56-inch terminal slug catcher line pipe adopts unconventional fine operation in board manufacturing, pipe manufacturing and transportation, which ensures the quality of steel pipe products.
The production of South China Sea Liwan 3-1 gas field deep sea seamless steel pipe with 1500 m water depth, UOE sea pipe under high pressure service with 200 m water depth, domestic largest diameter ultra long line pipe for Asia's largest slug catcher device, UOE welded pipe, HFW welded pipe, seamless line pipe for provincial pipe network land use and which connect Guangdong Province energy lifeline shows Baosteel's strong capacity in seamless steel pipe, welded pipe manufacturing. It suggests that Baosteel Steel Pipe is equipped with full supply capacity of pipe line from deep sea to land. It breaks long-term foreign monopoly of China's deep-sea pipeline and supporting tube and provides strong support for South China Sea gas field development, national energy engineering strategy implementation and steel pipe localization .
