Osmat Imports Is Recalling Stuffed Eggplants Product

Osmat Imports, a Canadian establishment, is recalling Stuffed Eggplants product as it may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The product subject to the recall is 4.4lbs Osmat Imports Stuffed Eggplants bearing UPC code 8 37770 00009 7 with Expiration date January 2014.

No illnesses have been reported associated with the recall. CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

Toxins produced by Clostridium botulinum may cause botulism, a life-threatening illness. Consumption of such food may cause nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, headache, double vision, dry throat, respiratory failure and paralysis. In severe cases of illness, people may die.
