Surya Brasil is introducing four new products to its Sapien Women line, which uses packaging made from Braskem's green plastic.
Braskem created the "I'm green seal", which guarantees the renewable origin of the packaging, and will help consumers recognise the green plastic.
Green plastic, which captures carbon dioxide during its production process, is made from ethylene derived from sugarcane ethanol.
The packaging has been produced in partnership with C-Pack, and will be marketed in South and North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Braskem renewable chemicals director Alexandre Elias said that the green plastic offers consumers a sustainable packaging alternative.
"The expansion of the partnership with Surya underscores the company's concern with offering solutions to its clients," Elias added.
Surya Brasil director and founder Clélia Angelon said, "Natural vegan and organic cosmetics have a deep moisturizing effect on the hair and skin and provide real and long-lasting results."
