Harry's Fresh Foods Opens New Production Facility in US

Oregon-based refrigerated and frozen soup maker Harry’s Fresh Foods has opened a new production facility in Nashville, Tennessee, US.

The new 200,000ft2 Nashville facility will produce branded and private-label products for club, retail, industrial, and food-service customers.

The new production facility is expected to employ more than 300 workers.

Harry’s Fresh Foods CEO Jamie Colbourne said: “We are now among the first to manufacture on both sides of our country.

“Opening this Nashville production facility enables us to offer the same high-quality products with less distance to travel, improves efficiency and available delivered shelf life of the company’s fresh, natural and organic products.”

The Nashville facility was earlier operated by Washington-based Oberto Brands, which, in January, decided to close the plant after three years of operation.

The company said that it offers flexible manufacturing capabilities and uses locally sourced, whenever possible, fresh ingredients.

Its products include desserts, soups, chilies, sauces, entrees and sides, frozen foods and gluten-free, organic, vegetarian and vegan choices, all scratch-made and cooked in small batches.

Nashville Mayor Megan Barry said: “Harry’s Fresh Foods is a well-established Northwest brand making high-quality products. Having them in Nashville benefits their retail and commercial customers in the East, as well as increases our Middle Tennessee workforce.”

Harry's Fresh Foods, which began selling clam chowder clam chowder for Pacific Northwest restaurants in 1977, is owned by JGC Foods, a subsidiary of Joshua Green Corporation and Management.

Currently, JGC Foods’ products are distributed in the US, Canada, Mexico, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea.
