The vehicle is powered by the BlueTec 6 six-cylinder engine mated to a PowerShift 3 automated transmission that generates 16 output variants from 175kW (238hp) to 460kW (625hp) and power ranges from 1000-3000Nm by the four engine sizes including 7.7L, 10.7L, 12.8L and 15.6L.

The trucks are scheduled for launch in Europe in May 2013 and the company claims to make the vehicles environmental friendly with the Euro-VI technology.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks head Stefan Buchner said that all-purpose vehicles are increasingly becoming a thing of the past.

"That's why we used a common platform to develop custom-tailored vehicle series for individual segments," Buchner added.

The trucks are offered with seven cabs in 14 versions and it features 4x2 two-axle version with rear-wheel drive to 8x8/4, a four-axle vehicle with all-wheel drive and two steering front axles.

Features of the truck include radiator grille with bucket-teeth- look, steel elements on the bumpers, radiator guard and folding entry step.
