ConAgra Foods has announced the voluntary recall of specific lots of its 8oz Hunt’s Tomato Sauce (regular variety) and Hunt’s Tomato Sauce No Salt Added over packaging defect.
According to the US-based packaged foods company, the products were packed in cans containing a defect in the inner lining, which may cause the can to swell and the product to spurt out when opened.
Hunt's Tomato Sauce (regular variety) and Hunt's Tomato Sauce No Salt Added have a Hunt's graphic logo on the front of the can.
ConAgra shipped the product to US retail food stores and distributors in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The company advises consumers who have bought the products with certain Best By dates ranging from 23 July 2014 to 8 October 2014 to call 866-511-7752 to ask questions or to arrange for a replacement.
