EATP (the European Association for Textile Polyolefins) has released details of the programme for its annual Executive Seminar, to be held in Brussels on May 20. The theme of the Seminar is “Fibres & Textiles in Europe : Towards Recovery”.
Introducing the programme, EATP/CIRFS Director General Frédéric VAN HOUTE said: “2013 was a challenging year. The recession with its financial and economic uncertainties however came to a turning point. In this moving context, the aim of this year’s Executive Seminar is to have a fresh look at the evolution of the industry in the months and years to come “
“Despite the improvements, times are still uncertain and challenges numerous. However, anticipation is essential and therefore the European man-made fibre and textile industry should come together to discuss the strategies of success in tomorrow’s world.”
“Indeed, in a global and rapidly changing world, the knowledge of all factors affecting the value chain is crucial. Understanding the evolution of feedstock costs and detecting future trends will allow to work on strategies in man-made fibre and in textile markets. Developments in Europe but also elsewhere will create competitors but also new opportunities. Our programme will look into all these aspects.”
“So business will need to integrate the dynamics of an ever-increasing competition, the developments of trade as well as growing sustainability concerns and a more stringent environmental legislation. Innovation will continue to be a key factor of success. Our seminar will include presentations on these issues and look into how an association and its members will be able to help meet this challenge.”
“Some of the presentations will be more relevant to polyolefin fibres and textiles, but many of them will deal with general man-made fibre and textile issues.”
“Therefore, the conference is of interest to companies involved in polyolefin fibres or textiles, but also to all other actors in man-made fibres and textiles.”
“The 2014 EATP/CIRFS Executive Seminar will include papers from companies, associations and consultancies, providing an in-depth look into the industry and providing participants with new information and ideas.“
“It will give industry leaders a unique opportunity for strategic reflections about the future of the whole fibres/textiles value chain with excellent networking opportunities.”
