Hai Kwang Enterprise, one of the major rebar manufacturers in Southern Taiwan, said that it planned to build up a new steel rolling plant at the nearby place of the mill's current location, aiming to cost down and increase its market competitiveness.
According to the news, Hai Kwang do not have any specific plan or schedule regarding to this new rolling plant but the company do have high interests in this new investment since this new plant may help to save about 50% of the fuel costs.
The investment amount of this rolling plant might be at NT$1 billion and the earliest time that Hai Kwang to start this project will be in the second half of 2013.
