Japanese cNissan has signed a deal with real estate developer firm Vesta for the construction of a Douki Seisan Park (DSP) at its new Aguascalientes, Mexico manufacturing plant in the US.

The deal follows need for specialized partners to support the manufacturer to increase its production capacity in order to meet the growing demand for Mexico-made vehicles.

Nissan expects that the close location of DSP to its manufacturing facility will allow internal link between automotive suppliers and production processes.

The DSP will be located within the manufacturer's new $2bn manufacturing complex, which is under construction and where Phase-1 of automotive operations are scheduled to start in the end of 2013.

Nissan Mexicana Manufacturing vice president Armando Avila said the company's suppliers are key players in this expansion and investment story.

"Through their presence at the Douki Seisan Park, we will collaborate shoulder-to-shoulder in closely timed, innovative manufacturing processes," Avila added.

"We are committed to growing significantly in a very competitive manner.

"The DSP will facilitate a streamlined and highly-efficient supply chain and logistics operation."

According to the company, the DSP will be developed in stages and will include five buildings occupying 1.6 million square feet area on 140acre land that will have seven suppliers along with further expansion potential in the future.
