US-based Island Delights is recalling 492 bags of its Coconut Haystack Candy as it may contain milk that is not mentioned on the product label, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The products subject to recall include Maple Coconut Haystacks, Chocolate/Almond Coconut Haystacks, Coffee Coconut Haystacks and Almond Coconut Haystacks. These were sold in 4oz. 8oz. and 2lb. Packs.
These products were distributed to retail stores and through mail orders in the states of Arizona, California, Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2012.
The affected lot codes are 13410400.02, 13410400.04, 13410400.08, 13410402.00, 13413100.02, 13413100.04, 13413100.08, 13413102.00, 13411300.02, 13411300.04, 13411300.08, 13413000.02, 13413000.04, 13413000.08 and 13413002.00.
There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of these products. No other Island Delights' products are known to be affected by this recall.
Consumers intolerant to milk are advised not to consume these products as it may cause allergic reaction, if consumed. FDA advised customers to return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
