Surly Brewing's plans to build a new destination brewery in Minneapolis,Minnesota,US,have moved ahead following a$545,300 grant from the Metropolitan Council.
The Brooklyn Center-based craft beer maker will use the funding to clean up the site,which previously housed a potato plant,in Prospect Park.
The$20m project is expected to consist of a brewery,restaurant,beer garden and event center.
Surly said the funding is one of three grants the company required to choose the site and carry out$2.5m in environmental remediation.
The company has also approached the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development(DEED)for$1.5m cleanup funds and Hennepin County for$450,000,according to StarTribune.
