TCL Group announced on February 27, its business performance TV and mobile phone showed polarization. In 2012, the company achieved net profit of 796 million yuan, down 21.43% over the previous year.
TCL Multimedia’s turnover of 2012 was 39.685 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%, and net profit doubled. TCL Communication turnover grew by 13% to 12.031 billion yuan, but still at a loss of 208 million yuan.
TCL LCD TV production in 2012 was 15.781 million units, and the actual sales ranked third worldwide. For the loss of the mobile phone business, TCL Communication said the company’s enter smartphone field and branding makes a significant increase in sales and R & D expenses. In 2013, the company will launch 4G LTE phone.
