German aftermarket tuning company Brabus has awarded a tire supply contract to the automotive supplier Continental tires for its high-performance, sports-tuned cars.
Under the deal, ContiSportContact 5 P ultra high-performance tires will be supplied for the Barabus' road-going sedan that generates an out put of 800HP, while offering top speed of about 350km/h.
The vehicle, which was produced with the ContiForceContact racing tire, will now use the ContiSportContact 5 P tires of 255/30 ZR 20 size at the front and 305/25 ZR 20 at the rear.
Continental Tuning head Henry Siemons said that developing tires for cars as the ones turned out by Brabus is a real challenge.
"What we encounter here is a blend of very powerful acceleration, extremely high speeds and high expectations in terms of handling," Siemons said.
Currently, Brabus uses the ContiSportContact 5 P tires in its UHP road-tire guise for the BRABUS B63-620 and BRABUS 800 iBusiness, while the 800 Widestar, tuned version of the Mercedes G 65 AMG, also uses Continental tires.
