Second Brewhouse Is Constructed by Garrison

Garrison Brewing will build its second brewery at the Halifax Seaport, Nova Scotia, Canada, as part of its expansion plans and environmental goals.

Under the $2m expansion project, the brewery will develop more than 13,000ft2 of rough industrial space in the Film Media Centre (FMC).

The proposed facility will triple Garrison's production and serve as primary facility for brewing, packaging and distributing.

Garrison president Brian Titus said by moving most of the process across the street, the brewery will be able to expand retail and hospitality, providing a better experience for people and events.

"We'll immediately reduce energy consumption through improved layout, higher-efficiency equipment and increased monitoring and automation," Titus added.

"Down the road, we'll also investigate solar power."

The original brewhouse at 1149 Marginal Road, grain silo and several tanks will remain in place for specialty beers and collaborations with other brewers, according to the brewery.

Last year, the brewery had manufactured 26 distinctive craft beers and five craft sodas with limited distribution in eight Canadian states.
