The presence of FontanaArte at Europuce featured a prestigious collection designed to high technical and aesthetic level as it coming out from a collaboration of work with designers of international renown.
For public view April 14-19 was dedicated at the Salone del Mobile and in the flagship store at no. 13 Corso Monforte in Milan.
The 2015 collection perfectly illustrates the FontanaArte philosophy – the aspiration to create technologically advanced objects that are beautiful and functional, and are centred on users and how they coexist with lighting.
The collection is rich in new ideas that are unique and prestigious thanks to the collaborative work with designers of international acclaim.
The main protagonist is a range of lamps that are all based on LEDs. And they are suitable for contract, hospitality, retail, office, and residential use. They include two particularly interesting task lighting proposals: Kinx by Karim Rashid and Volée by Odo Fioravanti: these take a strongly technical approach that makes possible the total management of lighting.
There are also new LED versions of lamps that are part of the history of FontanaArte: Parola, first designed in 1980 by Gae Aulenti and now re-proposed in a new suspension version; Riga by Paolo Zani; and the more recent Cheshire by GamFratesi and Lunaire by Ferréol Babin.
The creative use of glass by Matti Klenell, Sebastian Herkner, Marcello Ziliani, and Giorgio Biscaro marks a return to the origins of FontanaArte, which was first set up in 1932 as the artistic division of a glassmaking company. The collections of earlier years used different materials in combination, but today glass has once again returned to its central role as the main component.
Moreover the new lamps by Carlo Colombo, Claesson Koivisto Rune, Giulio Iacchetti, and Matteo Nunziati interpret the best of contemporary design in ways that enable the elegance of richly fascinating spaces to be lit in the most effective way, whilst also meeting the most imaginative technical requirements of the lighting designer.
FontanaArte has also updated its image with a new website (available in desktop, tablet, and mobile versions) and the new FontanaArte Book, an exciting and informative publication that brings end users close to design products, showing how easy they are to live with and illustrating completed lighting projects all over the world. The new book also enables the reader to rediscover the brand and how it combines history, design culture, and the artisan tradition in stories about light that are rich in content, with images of installed lighting solutions to show each product and its characteristics in the best setting.
A special edition of FontanaArte Magazine will highlight the 2015 Collection and the various ways in which our company will be taking a leading part at this year’s Milan Design Week. The Magazine will be distributed at our Euroluce stand, our flagship store, and at various other places around the city.
The exhibition stand and our flagship store in Milan have both been designed by the architects Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla to communicate a world of elegance, lightness, newness, and internationalism. The elegance and lightness are expressed by the colours, with a prevalence of white and using a light, luminous green to represent glass. The newness is expressed by presenting the lamps as gifts being unwrapped and discovered as they emerge out of their boxes. The internationalism is expressed by the living presence of FontanaArte in homes all over the world, where our products bring light to the beauty of contemporary life.
For Design Week there will be an exclusive preview in the Milan flagship store, at no. 13 Corso Monforte, of a unique interactive experience entitled ‘The Speed of Light’ by Moritz Waldemeyer that consists of a series of lighting installations he has specially created for FontanaArte.
