Rancho Feeding is recalling about 41,683 pounds of meat products as they were produced without the benefit of full federal inspection.
The products subject to recall include 'Beef Carcasses,' 50lb boxes of 'Beef Feet,' 20lb boxes of 'Beef Oxtail,' 50lb boxes of 'Beef Hearts,' 60 and 30lb boxes of 'Beef Liver,' 30lb boxes of Beef Cheeks,' 60lb boxes of 'Beef Tripe,' and 30lb boxes of 'Beef Tongue.'
Beef carcasses and boxes feature the establishment number 'EST. 527' inside the USDA mark of inspection and each box bears the case code 'ON9O4.'
These products were produced on 8 January 2014, and shipped to distribution centers and retail establishments in California.
The problem was identified during an ongoing investigation, and the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) believes that the products were produced without full ante-mortem inspection as per federal regulations.
No illnesses have been reported to date associated with the consumption of these products; however, anyone concerned about an illness have been advised to contact a health care provider.
