Radiant Shipped 10.997 Million Backlight Units in January, Slipping on Month by 3%

Taiwan-based Radiant Opto-Electronics shipped 10.997 million backlight units (BLUs) in January, slipping on month by 3%, according to the company.

Radiant saw January shipments of BLUs used in 9.7-inch iPad decrease sequentially and those of BLUs used in 7.9-inch iPad mini increase, but because the average selling price for the former was higher than that for the latter, the company's consolidated revenues of NT$5.889 billion (US$200 million) for January dropped on month by 9.98%.

Taiwan-based BLU makers Forhouse and Kenmos Technology have also reported consolidated revenues for January.
