German carmaker BMW is set to introduce a new production version of the X4 SUV at the New York motor show in April 2014.
The move is a part of BMW's plan to launch three new SUVs and two new models by its M division in 2014.
X4, a sporting crossover model, follows a thinly veiled 2013 concept car. The new vehicle will be equipped with a range of four-cylinder and six-pot petrol and diesel engines.
It will also feature an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a variable sports steering system, reported Autocar.
This launch will coincide with a facelift for the X3, which will be launched with a new front end in line with the X4's.
Another model X6 will follow the launch of revised X3 and X4 vehicles. X6 will be introduced at the Moscow motor show in August 2014 followed by a launch in the UK in November 2014.
At the end of the year, the company will introduce X6 M version alongside an X5 M.
Both vehicles will be equipped with the twin-turbo 4.4L V8 engine with increased power and torque from the current 547bhp and 502lb ft.
