Nerf, Hasbro's long-running blaster brand which has typically aimed at the boys market, is now launching a bow especially for girls.
The Nerf Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow arrives in the UK and US this autumn, priced at £19.99 RRP. It's aimed at girls aged eight and up, and comes with five dart arrows.
The product is "inspired by current pop culture trends" - bows are certainly in, with brands like The Hunger Games, Brave and Tomb Raider featuring bow-wielding female protagonists.
To activate the bow, users can load a foam dart in the front and take aim. Then, pull back on the bow string handle and release to send darts soaring across the sky up to 75 feet.
It also features an accessory rail which provides for five-dart storage and allows girls to customise their blaster with fun add-ons.
Other products in the Nerf Rebelle range include a £24.99 Crossbow, £9.99 Sneak Attack mini blasters, £7.99 Pink Crush Mini Crossbow, £3.99 dart refill packs including 12 foam darts, £12.99 Accessory Bag which features a pouch for holding darts and comes with 10 darts.
A statement read: "Combining active play with social interaction, the global lifestyle brand provides girls with a new play experience.
