Chevrolet, a subsidiary of the US based automobile manufacturer General Motors, has launched its new Sonic 1.6 E85, the revamped model of the Sonic car in Thailand.
The vehicle is powered by the four-cylinder 1.6L double overhead camshafts (DOHC) engine that generates an output of 115hp at 6,000rpm and torque of 155Nm at 4,000rpm with double continuous variable camphasing (DCVC).
According to the company, the Sonic 1.6 E85 is the first flex-fuel vehicle (FFV) in its segment that can be powered with pure benzene (E0) up to gasoline with 85% ethanol (E85).
Sonic 1.6 E85 comes with an engine management system that allows user to change operational settings including fuel-flow rate, ignition timing and spark advance.
The vehicle is equipped with six-speaker system, seven-inch color touch-screen display that can be connected to smartphones, USB, and Bluetooth.
Features of the vehicle include exposed headlamp fixtures, accentuated wheel arches and tight panel gaps as well as 35 personalization options including accessories.
The company plans to manufacture the vehicle in Thailand and exported it to other markets in the region.
