GM Improved Technology on Its 2015 GMC Sierra Denali Truck

American automobile manufacturer General Motors (GM) has improved technology on its 2015 GMC Sierra Denali truck with the addition of the new Magnetic ride control feature.

Magnetic ride control feature on Sierra Denali is the first electronically controlled damping system available on a full-size truck.

The new technology is claimed to offer better body motion control with a more refined ride while maintaining payload and trailering capability.

Magnetic ride will be made available as standard on all Sierra Denali half-ton models including the standard 5.3L V-8 engine as well as the 6.2L V-8 powertrain.

GM executive chief engineer Jeff Luke said with magnetic ride control, the 2015 Sierra Denali delivers a smoother, more confident driving experience without sacrificing the capabilities customers expect from a GMC truck.

"The responsiveness of the system makes this full-size truck feel and drive like a luxury vehicle - and one that's more comfortable on long trips, especially when trailering," Luke added.

The new magnetic ride control is equipped with sensors that assess the road and trigger damping changes in about five milliseconds in electronically controlled shock absorbers that replace conventional mechanical-valve shocks.
