New Wave Surgical, a surgical device company, has announced that its flagship product D-HELP endoscopic visualization system has surpassed the one-millionth procedure.
New Wave Surgical's patented D-HELP system is a device that was developed to help surgical teams see clearly throughout an entire laparoscopic or robotic surgical procedure.
The company claims that it is the only endoscopic visualization system that keeps the laparoscopic lens defogged and clean from the start of surgery to close.
Prior to the creation of D-HELP, fogging and laparoscope lens-cleaning remained a frustration for surgeons, according to New Wave Surgical. When scopes get fogged and soiled from body tissue and fluids, the operating room time is extended, increasing procedure costs and patient risks.
New Wave Surgical founder and president Alexander Gomez noted the company is most appreciative of D-HELP's global acceptance by hospitals, surgeons and surgical techs in the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
"With the implementation of our new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and growing ranks of loyal users, the company is well positioned for another excellent year," Gomez added.
