A North American seaport installation is using an integrated product combining video analytics with access control as part of its security solution. PureTech Systems Inc., manufacturer of video analytic software, has integrated its PureActiv wide area surveillance solution with the AMAG Symmetry™ Security Management System, bringing together PureTech's geospatial video analytic detection capability and its advanced pan-tilt-zoom automation with AMAG's leading edge access control platform. The combination allows for advanced alarming and autonomous camera protocols based on both video events and access control events.
Customers with an AMAG Symmetry system can now augment their current capability with such advanced features as the ability to swing a camera to an access control event and verify the event with video analytics. Likewise, any event confirmed with PureTech's video analytics can be enabled to automatically follow the target with a pan-tilt-zoom camera without any need for operator intervention. This ability to follow the event proves extremely valuable when trying to react to the event or evaluate the video footage at a later time.
Advances in Situational Awareness
Another feature the integration provides is a map-based, or geospatial, element. By sharing metadata alarm information between the two systems, access control events can be placed directly on a map-based GUI. When combined with PureActiv's ability to dynamically track the target of interest on the map, this provides the security personnel an advanced level of situational awareness.
"PureTech Systems is known in the security world for its video analytics and advanced pan-tilt-zoom camera control," notes Tony Casciano, PureTech's vp of business development. "However, we also spend a great deal of time integrating with other security products to allow a more robust solution for our customers. Teaming to provide integrations, such as this AMAG Symmetry integration, allows our customers to receive best in class performance in multiple facets of their security system."
The flexible integration can accommodate very specific needs of individual customers. Similarly, the PureActiv portion of the solution can be deployed on a commercial off-the-shelf server-based or edge device solution. The integration is currently available and can be used for new or existing installations.
