FPL Food, a US-based establishment, is recalling around 5,820 pounds of ground beef chuck as they may contain small pieces of plastic, according to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The product associated with the recall is 80 oz chubs of 80% Lean 20% Fat All Natural Ground Beef Chuck bearing establishment number EST 332B with the sell by date 27 March 2013.

These products were packaged on 7 March 2013 and were sold in retail stores across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

The recall has been initiated after the company has received three consumer complaints. The pieces of plastic might be the pieces of a blue plastic liner that covers source material used to produce the final ground product.
