Spreadshirt Continues to Push Forward Mobile Optimisation in E-Commerce Platforms

Spreadshirt said it continues to push forward mobile optimisation in e-commerce platforms with the launch of its new shop platform, Spreadshop.

“The move is another notable milestone in the company’s efforts to optimise all points-of-sale for mobile usage for both buyers and sellers,” the company said in a press release.

“We leveraged the touch t-shirt design tool in 2013, mobile marketplace and single page check-out in 2014, and have now launched Spreadshop in 2015,” CEO Philip Rooke said.

“This aligns with our goal of enabling our community of sellers to publish any idea on every product we offer globally in 60 seconds or less as we become a game-changer in the apparel and accessory industry,” he noted.

According to the company, Spreadshirt is the only combined shop provider and fulfillment service in the industry that offers all its services optimised for mobile.

“Thereby, we set the standard in responsive design, mobile optimisation and global reach as a fulfiller,” Spreadshirt added.

According to Spreadshirt, the new site is fully responsive, faster load times, ease of social sharing for customers, user-friendly design and lists pages for more intuitive product searching.

In the near future, it will add, multiple product option displays that lead to higher conversions, ease of shop personalization, ease of social sharing for shop sellers, better SEO and specific landing pages.

The Spreadshop technology is based on Spreadshirt’s mobile marketplace that has been built with Google Web Toolkit (GWT), while the underlying agile software development methodology is SCRUM.

“The experience we gained with the mobile marketplace has helped us with the development of Spreadshop,” Rooke too added.

“Integration of the t-shirt design tool, with which the customer can create a product themselves, is in the planning stages as well, since it has proved to have a positive effect on conversion rates,” he informed.
