New China Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (SHSE: 601336 and SEHK: 1336) said last weekend that it has gained go-ahead from its board of directors to set up an e-commerce unit with a registered capital of CNY 100 million.
The plan, though not made specific, unveils the life insurance firm's strategy to make a push into the online insurance sales market. The plan still needs approval from the regulators.
