General Motors is planning to introduce new electric vehicles in the market by 2017 that are expected to give competition to Tesla Model 3 in terms of price and style.
The company is planning to launch Chevrolet Bolt, a $30,000 car, capable of running up to 200 miles on a single charge, reported Wall Street Journal.
The company has already introduced the production model of the Volt at the North American International Auto Show.
The new model is capable of going 50 miles on a full charge making it 30% farther than the current model.
It is capable of automatically switching into electric mode as soon as the gasoline runs out of the vehicle, however, the vehicle provides a combined range of 420 miles.
Previously the Detroit based car maker introduced a $75,000 plug-in Cadillac ELR to compete against Tesla's Model S sedan but it did not click with customers.
