Reportedly, US Steel planned to start up its US$400 million automotive sheet continuous annealing line at the company's PRO-TEC joint venture with Japan's Kobe Steel in the second quarter of this year.
Currently, the company is working on the final testing of the control system to make sure all production lines are able to run smoothly during testing run.
Meanwhile, the new continuous annealing line expects to have annual production capacity of 500,000 tons and will produce high-strength, lightweight steels for the auto industry accordingly.
