For the 3M booth at both, OR Winter Market and ISPO Munich trade shows, Safe Reflective designed a large format version of its Eclipse 5721 heat transfer reflective on concept clothing.
According to a Safe Reflective press release, the Eclipse 5721 heat transfer reflective blends wearable, high-fashion apparel with the safety of high-visibility reflective material.
The 3M design team created two concept garments; an active winter running shirt and a discrete visibility dress, using Eclipse 5721 Reflective.
“Both designs feature complex and ornate graphics that combine visual appeal with reflective functionality,” it said.
“Our partners at 3M are always seeking ways to highlight imaginative applications using their Scotchlite Reflective Material,” said Chuck Gruber, president at Safe Reflections.
“When 3M came to us to create a balance between beauty and safety using reflective material, we relished the opportunity to showcase a creative and innovative design application together,” Gruber added.
Eclipse 5721 Reflective combines safety and style in a single application, giving designers the freedom to imagine more possibilities than ever before.
Using a low-cost and eco-friendly heat transfer process, Eclipse 5721 Reflective is produced based on 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material and using its own proprietary Tribondex adhesive.
Eclipse 5721 large format reflective features a self-weeding design, which eliminates the highest cost of making a transfer and makes closed-area designs possible.
The material also has high-stretch capabilities and large format modularity to ensure maximum design flexibility for a variety of applications.
“These 3M concept garments are examples of how safety benefits of high-brightness reflective material can be incorporated into high-fashion designs, sacrificing neither visual appeal nor visibility,” Safe Reflective too added.
