German automaker Audi has introduced its Audi A3 g-tron in Germany, and the model has been put up for sale at dealerships.
Audi A3 g-tron is part of the company's new, integrated and sustainable mobility concept.
The vehicle is powered by 1.4L TFSI engine with 110HP (81 kW). It can be operated using natural gas or e-gas generated by Audi or gasoline. The vehicle is CO2-neutral in pure e-gas mode.
The A3 g-tron will use 3.2kg to 3.3kg of gas per 100km. Audi e-gas, a synthetic methane, is produced at the Audi e-gas facility in Werlte, Lower Saxony, Germany
Audi technical development board member Ulrich Hackenberg said: "In addition to our e-mobility developments, the Audi e-gas project is an important pillar of our sustainability strategy - as is the development of other synthetic fuels."
Currently, the company is operating a research facility for the production of Audi e-ethanol and e-diesel with its partner Joule in Hobbs, New Mexico.
