UK automotive giant Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has taken the wraps off its all-aluminium luxury saloon ‘Jaguar XJ’ armed with the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine promising more torque and less fuel consumption.
The engine, which is Euro 6 compliant, is capable of zooming from zero to 60mph in 5.9 seconds, maintaining 149g/km CO2 emssion.
Claiming to offer a smoother and quieter driving experience, the vehicle's power unit can accelerate the torque from 275PS/600Nm to 300PS/700Nm.
It also has options for all-aluminium inline-four, V6 and V8 petrol engines with specifications of direct injection, variable valve timing, forced induction and intelligent stop-start systems.
The 240PS/340Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder benefits from a low-inertia turbocharger to match the driveability of larger naturally-aspirated engines but with improved fuel economy.
Apart from having full LED headlights with a 'quad lamp' design, semi-aniline leather and inlay veneers are said to contribute to the luxury of the interiors.
Jaguar XJ vehicle line director Ian Hoban said: "More dynamic and distinctive than ever, we've engineered our flagship saloon to deliver even greater levels of luxury and performance.
"Featuring our new world-class infotainment system, interior materials and finishes which create an even more bespoke feel, and with our higher output, lower emissions diesel engine, the XJ rewards drivers and passengers like no other luxury car."
Flaunting a new infotainment system, InControl Touch Pro, the new avatar also offers door-to-door navigation, Wi-Fi and 1,300W Meridian Digital Reference audio.
The product lineup under Jaguar XJ range, made at Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich manufacturing unit, will have XJ Luxury, XJ Premium Luxury, XJ Portfolio, XJ R-Sport, XJR, XJ Autobiography.
Besides, a Commute Mode in the vehicle is capable of learning the daily drive of drivers and suggesting alternate routes to avoid congestion, riding high on historical and real-time traffic information.
The Approach Mode offers a display of 360° interactive view within a radius of 200m for a given destination, guiding to the nearest car parking lot.
It also has rear seat entertainment with two 10.2-inch high-definition screens tha could be folded when not in use.
