UK-based dairy food company Dairy Crest is all set to launch new easy tear open packaging for cheese brand Cathedral City.
The packaging, which aims to meet shopper demands for convenient, time saving packaging methods, features a tear off strip to join the press-to-close seal featured on Cathedral City packs that are available at present.
According to the company, the packaging removes the need to use knives and scissors to open and also alleviates the stress associated with busy consumer lifestyles.
As part of the easy tear packaging, the strip has been designed so as to allow for easy opening, and the press-to-close seal keeps the brand fresh, once opened.
Cathedral City marketing manager Laura Sheard said Which? survey 2014 revealed that one in five people claim that their food choices are limited by complicated packaging, which is increasingly becoming a barrier to purchase.
"The new Cathedral City easy tear packs make it easier and more convenient for our consumers to enjoy the nation's favourite cheese," Sheard added.
The new pack will be available in the 550g block variety and the 350g block variety from mid-February and March, respectively.
