Energy services company Mitie has launched a new lighting service–Lighting in Future Environments(LIFE).
The service is designed to take on the long-term management of a lighting estate for a fixed term giving property owners guarantees on running costs,maintenance and energy savings.
The scheme will cover all aspects of the lighting process including design,installation,energy supply and technical upgrades.
MITIE is working alongside a number of manufacturers to develop the service including Phillips,GE,Reggiani,Thorn,Dextra,and B&W Lighting.
Speaking to lighting at the launch of LIFE,Kerry Sheehan,MITIE's national mobile services director,said:“LIFE will change the way property owners approach long-term lighting planning.The service is about designing a solution that is fit for a client’s specific purpose.We are working with multiple manufacturers because we want to get the message to our clients that one solution doesn't fit all.
''With standards that are coming along such as Zhaga,we can install a light engine with an LED and know that when the technology evolves we can upgrade that LED easily.Also,if a client decides they want to change their scheme it doesn't have to be a case of throwing the engine away because it no longer suits,it can be adapted,and that is the flexible approact that is needed.We can work with our in-house design team,our client’s design team or even a third party design team to get the right solution for each client.''he said.
