Kraft Heinz has expanded the recall of Kraft Singles products as the issue with the packaging film may have larger impact than it initially considered.
On Thursday, the firm recalled 335,000 cases as a thin strip of packaging film is likely stick to the slice once the wrapper is removed, thereby leading to a choking hazard.
On 31 July, Kraft Heinz recalled 36,000 cases due to the same reason.
The firm stated that it has received two new complaints of customers choking. It revealed three reports earlier, and had received seven other complaints about the packaging.
The latest recall includes 1-, 3- and 4-pound Kraft Singles American and White American cheese products carrying "Best when used by dates" ranging from 12 December to 2 March.
The products were sold in the US, Puerto Rico, and 10 other countries and territories including Anguilla, Belize, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Netherlands Antilles, Grand Cayman, St. Kitts and Nevis, South Korea, the British Virgin Islands and St. Lucia, reported NBC News.
