Stretch Wrap Packaging Invests $12m to Relocate Its Manufacturing Plant

US-based plastic stretch wrap manufacturer Stretch Wrap Packaging Industries has announced an investment of $12m to relocate its manufacturing plant from Suriname, South America to Fort Lauderdale.

Stretch Wrap Packaging vice president Rahul Singh said key drivers to relocate the facilities to the US included the economy achieving back momentum and the perceived quality of products manufactured in the country.

"While our manufacturing operations could have been located anywhere within the United States, the global strategic location of Broward County, being centrally located in South Florida with its gateway to Latin America and the world, coupled with its strong infrastructure, state tax advantage and quality of life made Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County the ideal location for our business," Singh said.

The company's move was also backed by the Enterprise Florida and the city of Fort Lauderdale officials.
